Murray, NEB.- According to ballotpedia.org the 2022 year will consist of the Nebraska State Senate elections. The Nebraska State Senate is one of the 88 state legislative chambers having an election in the year 2022. There are 99 chambers across the country in total. The election is on Nov. 8, 2022. Along with that, a primary takes place and it is scheduled for May 10, 2022. The filing deadline for incumbents was Feb. 15, 2022.

Candidates are required to complete many different files to be able to compete. There are two types of candidates. One is a partisan candidate, and the other is an independent candidate. A partisan is a member of a political party or army. These people strongly support their parties and compromise with political opponents. On the other hand, an independent candidate is a candidate who is not defined in a party. They believe in what they want to and do not stand in a specific area and might have different opinions. These candidates can both run for the senate elections.

The primary election is where registered voters pick a candidate that they think would be a good option to be a political party’s candidate for elected office to run in the general election. In Nebraska polling locations open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Central time and 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. To register in Nebraska each candidate is required to be a citizen of the United States and a resident of the Nebraska county in which they are registering.
