MURRAY, NEB. – On July 4, 1995 the Foo Fighters self titled debut album hit shelves. Dave Grohl did not expect the everlasting impact it had. Initially made as a demo, this album poured the foundation for many other albums such as The Colour and the Shape, One by One, In Your Honor and many more. Bandmates Dave Grohl, Pat Smear, Chris Shifflet, Rami Jaffee, Nate Mendal and Taylor Hawkins contributed the Foos iconic sound: heavy guitar and loud drum tracks.

Unfortunately on March 22, 2022, the band’s roaring sound came to a halt. Taylor Hawkins was found unresponsive in his hotel room. Since then, fans and famous musicians have been paying tribute to the late drummer by covering iconic songs of the Foo Fighters.

On September 3rd the Foo Fighters paid tribute to their bandmate by hosting an all star concert in London at the world famous Wembley Stadium. Special guests included Liam Gallager, Paul Mccartney, Queen, Travis Barker, Nandi Bushell, Shane Hawkings and many more! The Foo Fighters were the last performers of the night and they truly rocked the crowd.

The Foo Fighters opening song was “Times Like These”. Dave Grohl had troubles with the opening lines as fans helped him by cheering for him. Times Like These is a crucial song in the band’s history. It was written about the hardships they were facing at the time. Some of these hardships include Taylor Hawkins suffering from a drug overdose, their newest album turning into a dead end and Dave Grohl thinking about splitting and playing for The Queens of The Stone Age. “Times Like These” recounts their troubles and how they were able to overcome the hardships.

The Foos finished their set with two major hits of the band. Shane Hawkins, Taylor Hawkins’s son, played alongside the Foo Fighters during “My Hero” on the drums. As he bashed every cymbal, the crowd was roaring with applause, leaving many fans with their jaws dropped. Dave Grohl finished the set by playing Everlong solo. As Grohl played each chord and sang every line the fans sang with him in unison. Everlong was a bittersweet ending to the show.

If you missed viewing the concert, no worries, the Foos will be hosting a final tribute on September 27. This tribute concert will be held in Los Angeles and will have guest appearances from Miley Cycrus, Krist Novoselic, Nikki Sixx and many more!
