Murray, NEB- On Tuesday, Sept. 5, the Conestoga Volleyball team played in a varsity triangular. They competed against the Palmyra Panthers and the Mead Raiders.The Cougar fans packed the stands, and the student section came out in their themed neon gear.
The first game kicked off at 5 p.m. versus Palmyra. Conestoga put up a good fight but was not able to pull off the win against the Panthers. Coach Plihal said, “The team played well, but they played timid. They had little confidence and lacked communication.” The Cougars fell 19-25 and 21-25.
In the last match of the night, versus Mead, the Cougars came back and swept the Raiders. There were some slight lineup changes that led the Cougars to victory. Coach Plihal stated, ”In the second game the team wanted to win and they gained their confidence back.” The ending score was two sets to none with the Cougars on top.
