MURRAY, NEB- The varsity Conestoga football game on Sept. 8 took time to represent the youth football team. On Sept. 26 the youth volleyball team also had an appearance before the varsity volleyball game. Moments like this are to show the Cougar’s appreciation for activities district wide and to prove that Conestoga supports all levels.
At the football game, the youth program got to do the run through along with the varsity players before the game. The kids dressed in their jerseys to show their school spirit. During halftime, the youth teams were announced on the field to appreciate their hard work. The youth football boys and coaches show up to many games to show their support for Conestoga.
The youth volleyball program also got a chance to be in the spotlight at the Conestoga varsity volleyball game. The young players ran through the tunnel of the high school volleyball team as people applauded them. The kids also received a mini volleyball and a scrunchie provided by the varsity team. Wearing their volleyball shirts, the girls stayed to watch every game and cheer on the Cougars. On Sept. 30 some members from the high school volleyball team worked at the youth volleyball tournament to show that the team cares for every age, not just high school.
“The youth are the future leaders, athletes and entrepreneurs.” said Coach Plihal, “Being represented is crucial for building current and future programs. They are working hard to better their skills so they deserve to be honored.”
