Murray, NEB- As Conestoga wraps up the 2023-24 school year they are looking back at all the crazy and eventful things that took place. Earlier this year Conestoga’s lunchroom dishwasher caught fire. The Whole Jr/Sr. high school had to go outside until it was certain the fire was dealt with.
Construction for the new HVAC project began! The students were surprised when they came back from Christmas break and the ceiling tiles in many areas of the school were missing. Many of the ceiling tiles have been removed and new duct systems have been installed in the ceiling. They plan to have all new duct work and ceilings in by the next school year. Installing the new duct systems will help the school remain the same temperature throughout the day. Allowing it to be cool throughout the warmer months and warmer through the colder months whereas before it was either cold or hot continuously. While building new duct systems and ceiling tiles they also installed vape detectors in the bathrooms and the locker rooms due to multiple incidents of catching students. The vape detectors will sense the smoke from your vape or cart, then it sends a notification to the administrators cell phone allowing the administrator to catch the student.
The internet has been causing the students and the staff plenty of issues this year as well. From cutting out to just not working the technology staff have been trying to figure out the best solution to the problems. Everyone, staff and students, will all be switched to chrome books next year, getting rid of their MacBook Airs. With all the hectic things this year brought, the students are excited to see what next year has in store for them.
