Is Patrick Mahomes regressing? Is Mahomes actually making the Chiefs worse? These are some of the questions that some fans have brought up because of his lackluster season.

The Chiefs are currently 12-1 and Mahomes has been anything but his past self hardly contributing to those wins. He has been carried by his special teams and defense all season. 10 of the 12 wins have been by one score or less. With many games coming down to fumbles,blocked field goals and some very suspect penalties from the refs. They have almost lost to the 2 worst teams in the league, the Raiders and the Panthers. The Raiders are currently 2-11. The Raiders fumbled on their last possession in field goal range with 15 seconds remaining down by 2. Then they had to win against the currently 3 – 10 Panthers by a last second field goal.

Mahomes is averaging only 245 yards per game when he usually averages upper 200s and sometimes 300 yards a game in past seasons. He currently has 11 interceptions in the league which is tied for 4th most in the league with Caleb Williams. Last year he only had 14 interceptions, he has 11 with 4 games left in this season. He hasn’t had the flashiness that the NFL is used to seeing this year. He hasn’t made those big time plays that we are used to seeing.

Mahomes and his team are frauds. They are going to play a real team in the postseason where they won’t get lucky and they will lose. They will probably get the first round bye, but even with that the teams in the AFC are really good so they will for sure lose the divisional round against whatever team heads their way. Chiefs fans should not be optimistic with this team heading to the playoffs. They should just be ready and prepare for a short postseason and a long offseason.
