The San Francisco 49ers are having their worst season since 2020 when they went 6-10. They are currently 6-8 and they have 3 more games to play. This year they have had many star players that have been injured and have not played much including Christian MCcaffery, Dre Greenlaw, Trent Williams, Nick Bosa, George Kittle and Brandon Aiyuk. All of those players were arguably top 5 at their position, but the main question that has been asked has been “Is the 49ers Super Bowl window closed?”. The answer to that question is no. The 49ers will be back next year.
All the 49ers need to do to return to the super bowl next year is pay Brock Purdy a team friendly deal, trade Deebo Samuel, draft some good offensive lineman and last but not least get a new defensive coordinator. The 49ers are absolutely stacked when it comes to players. The offense is good, the defense is good and the special teams are okay. The play calling from the head coach Kyle Shanahan has been questionable at some times but he had led the 49ers to 2 superbowls and 4 nfc championships in the 7 years he has been here so there is no point in getting rid of him. Even though they lost both super bowls he is still a prodigy in football.
The team’s chemistry is something the 49ers really have to focus on. In the last week they had linebacker De’Vondre Campbell just quit on the team. He just walked off the field when he was asked to go into the game just because someone who is top 5 in their position was playing over him. While they have players who were shot in the chest ahead of the season, playing with bilateral achilles tendonitis, broken ankles and a recently torn achilles. Then they also had Deebo go on social Media complaining about not getting the ball enough, so the 49ers fed him the ball in the first draft. He had terrible stats even though they gave him the ball a lot. He had 3 receptions 2 drops for 16 yards, 2 carries for 3 yards and basically tackled his own players. Also not to mention when they played the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in week 10 he choked out the long snapper.
The 49ers have a lot to do if they want to go to the superbowl. It’s just a lot of small changes and tweaks to make it. Hopefully the general manager John Lynch makes the right decisions this offseason to make this team great again.
