Conestoga Jr/Sr Career Day was on Wednesday, Feb 26 at the High School. It was a unique opportunity for students to learn about different career paths they can go into. Many speakers from different fields came in to talk to students about their jobs, their companies, and what it takes to succeed in their careers. It was different to hear from so many people who work in different industries and learn what their jobs are really like.
There were a lot of speakers who came to the school from different career paths. To make sure the students had enough time to hear from all of them, the school shortened classes for the day. This way, they could attend the presentations without missing out on other parts of the day.
The students got to pick what kind of professions they were interested in hearing about. From there, they were put into different classrooms with speakers. They got the opportunity to listen to five different people based on their interests.
Career Day is a chance for students to connect what they’re learning in school to real-world jobs. The speakers gave them a behind-the-scenes look at their careers and told them what kind of education or skills they need to succeed. It is different hearing directly from people in the community who are experts in their fields and who can give students advice about what it takes to get started in a career. The point was to make the high schoolers think more about what life could look like after senior year.
