Soccer practice kicked off Monday, Feb. 24 led by coaches Jeffery Brokaw, Larry Welch and Andy Kayhanfar. Their first game is today, Thursday, March 20, against Gross Catholic. They are hoping to improve from their previous season where they went 6-6.
The team is hoping to start out the season strong with a win, they are very optimistic for this season and are very excited to kick it off today. Cole M is especially excited, saying, “Im looking forward to the game today, I’m very hopeful that we come out with this win because we have a great team with great chemistry so I don’t really see a way we lose.”
Cole is not the only one who is excited to play this game, the whole team is. The team is pumped up and ready to play. They have been putting in the work for a while now and are excited to show off their skills on the field. They have been looking forward to this exact moment since the start of practice.
Two years ago the soccer team made it to state so the team is looking forward to hopefully repeating that run from two years ago. Last year they fell short but that’s not demotivating them at all if anything it’s giving them motivation to get there again.
Cole had something to say on the topic of possibly going to state again.“I’ve been on a team that has been to state before and the team we have right now reminds me a lot of that team. I really do see us going far in districts this year and hopefully making it to state again. That season last year where we fell short really motivates the whole team to be better.”
