MURRAY, Neb. – Conestoga’s band has had a week full of events. They had their first field show competition of the year and continued on with another during the week. More field shows, parades and State Marching Band are soon to come.
To start off the season, the band competed in the Harvest of Harmony. They took the drive down to Grand Island on Oct.1 and competed against 93 other schools’ bands. Saturday was a good start to the season for marching band. Overall, they ended up placing 40 out of 94 in the parade.
Following the parade, the band continued on to the field show competition. Even with any incidents that occured, the band pulled through and received a Division three rating. This was only the start of the season and it only continues from there.

This was their second field show of the season and they managed to improve their score drastically. “After a 4 hour impromptu rehearsal on Tuesday, the band improved their score by 22 points, and received a Division 1 rating (Superior)!” Cassiandra Vallis, the marching band director, said.
