Running Past the Competition
Dani A. Takes on State Cross Country
MURRAY, Neb – Dani A. competed at state cross country on Friday, Oct. 21 in Kearney and did an amazing job placing 40th in the pack.
Dani worked hard the entire season and it paid off. She was ranked 45th in the girls division at the start of the competition and finished in a higher position. She skipped an amazing 5 spots and finished in 40th place.
“I had two main goals for the state: to be in the top 50 of the race and to beat certain runners. I achieved both of those in my last race of the season.” said Dani.
She has a bigger goal for next year, which also happened to be her last year. She wants to earn a state medal.
“I believe it’s attainable. I’ve already set my mind to it now, next season it just has to be done.”
