Recycling Program
MURRAY, Neb – This spring, the Ag. department, in partnership with Keep Cass County Beautiful, has started a recycling program here at Conestoga to help with reusing recyclable products.
This recycling program is helping to reduce the amount of paper, plastic bottles, cardboard boxes and aluminum cans that normally go to landfills. Instead, Conestoga will give them to First Star Recycling in Omaha.
Recycling conserves energy, water, natural resources and reduces greenhouse gas emissions by reusing the products recycled to make new materials.
“Since the summer of 2018, we’ve printed over 4.5 million pieces of paper, which is equivalent to 540+ trees and 100,800 pieces per month. We are hoping to reduce our impact and promote good citizenship.” stated Ms. Taylor.
