Titanic Anniversary

On April 15th, 1912 at approximately 2:20 am the famous disaster of the Titanic happened. Approximately 1,500 people passed away.

Fun Facts:
It cost $7,500,000 to build the Titanic
Two workers died during the build
About 10,000 lamp bulbs were used in the making of the ship
Approximately 835 tons of coal were used per day
The length of the ship is 882 feet and 9 inches
Aout 14,000 gallons of drinking water were used every 24 hours
One thousand bottles of wine were taken aboard
It took 160 minutes for the boat to sink after hitting the iceberg
Only 2 dogs survived
It was -2 degrees celsius where the boat sank
The ship received six warnings before the collision
The ship lays 12,600 feet below the surface
About 6,000 artifacts have been recovered from the site, so far

About the lifeboats, the Titanic was originally going to carry 64 lifeboats but the creator thought that the ship was “unsinkable” and “not even God could sink her”. He also thought that all the lifeboats made the boat look ugly so they decided to only put 20 lifeboats aboard.

In Branson, Missouri there is a Titanic museum, while you’re in line waiting to enter, one of the workers comes around and hands you a card with a name on it. The name is of someone who was on the Titanic and at the very end of the museum you get to look for your name and see if your person survived or not. There are also many other fun activities to do there like you can stick your hand in water just as cold as the water was when the ship sank. The museum is also shaped like a boat.
