Easter Traditions

MURRAY, NEB – Easter is Sunday, March 31. Easter is a Christian holiday that commemorates the resurrection of Jesus from the dead. On Easter Day, most families attend church in the morning and have family traditions afterwards. Many families have different traditions they do on Easter Sunday.

The most popular Easter tradition is Easter egg hunting. A mythical creature called the Easter Bunny hides eggs filled with candy for younger children and also sets out cute baskets filled with fun toys and treats. Kids love Easter mainly for the eggs. It is so fun to hunt for hidden eggs and to crack them open to reveal lots of candy. Another Easter tradition families participate in is painting eggs. They would decorate eggs and show them to their family members. You can add stickers, paint, or even dye them. The most common Easter tradition is a big Easter dinner. An Easter dinner usually has ham and wine. Many families say a prayer before eating to appreciate Easter Sunday.

A few things to do around Murray is the Easter Egg hunt. It is provided by the church in town and the Girl Scouts group . Kids of all ages can attend the Easter Egg hunt. Every year they have it at the park in town. Before the Easter Egg hunt families can attend the church in town for morning church.
