Mario Kart, it’s a racing game where you throw turtle shells, bananas, and much more. Mario Kart is widely known as one the best games out there for families and friends. Anyone can sit down and play Mario Kart and win. This game is well known for how chaotic the races can be. And don’t forget the one and only, blue shell. Over the years many Mario Kart games are well known better than other games.
Mario Kart Wii was released on the Nintendo Wii. Mario Kart Wii is considered one of the most popular Mario Kart games in the franchise, the game where chaos is just natural to happen, blue shell after blue shell. and of course the computer players are chaos, giving you not just a challenge but also makes the player aware of items. This game was considered to have some of the nitro tracks in the series; nitro tracks are tracks that were first made in the game. This was also the first game where they introduced bikes that are considered one of the best vehicles to use in the game. They also introduce half pipes, which are tricks that are able to be done after going off of a wall and performing aerial tricks.
Mario Kart 7 was released on the Nintendo 3DS system. Mario Kart 7 is a slightly smaller game than Mario Kart Wii, but it did introduce a lot of new things into this game. The first thing they added in is kart customization. kart customization lets you make your kart in any shape or form that you want it to be. They also added the ability to drive underwater, making some new flashy ideas for tracks. With this mechanic, you are able to drive underwater in a majority of courses that let you or make you drive underwater. The last thing they added in is the ability to drive in the air. one of the kart customizations has a glider selection, this also makes some new flashy ideas for tracks with this mechanic. Many players say that this game has the best retro track selection in the series, retro tracks are tracks that have been remade and are based on the track from previous entries.
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe was released on the Nintendo Wii U and the Nintendo Switch. This game is the biggest game yet, who knew a game with 96 tracks, tons of characters, a really great battle mode, and an overall great community would be the best game in the entire series. On top of that they have collabs like Link from The Legend of Zelda Series, Villager and Isabelle from the Animal Crossing Series, and The Inklings from the Splatoon Series as playable characters. The mechanics in this game have half pipes, gliders, and the ability to drive underwater, basically all the things that were new in previous games. The new mechanic in this game is antigravity. Antigravity is a mechanic where you can drive on walls, go upside down, or go through a twist road. This mechanic made some of the retro tracks change in a cool way. After five years without new content, in 2022, Nintendo announced that Mario Kart 8 Deluxe was getting DLC for the main purpose of the mobile game. Mario Kart Tour was going to be discontinued not long after the release of the DLC, this brought back fan favorite tracks, and added some returning characters like Diddy Kong for example.
