The new year starts in only a few weeks, that leaves very little time for those who haven’t already finished deciding what they want to do to change themselves, their lifestyles, or the groups they hang out with.
Maybe you would like to keep your grades up or stay ahead of assignments, maybe you even want to miss less school days next semester. The whole point of new years resolutions is to have something to hang on to when the next year begins and you can say something along the lines of, “I did really well keeping on track to meet my goal.” You may even earn bragging rights when your friend is stuck doing homework and you’re able to play a video game.
Maybe if you decide your goal for the year is to make more friends you’ll be able to find someone with the same hobbies and interests as you, then you’ll have a friend who’s also been waiting for a show or movie based off of a book to finally come out. The point is that a new year should include a new you, New Year’s Resolutions are really just a way to get you a bit out of your comfort zone and into a broader world than the one you already know, especially when you take the time to learn something new, like more about that one topic that has been itching at your mind, or a new language for if you ever plan on traveling or getting a job that requires you to speak another language such as Dutch, French, or Spanish.
You never know what you can truly do unless you try, that is why I find resolutions and goals so important, especially when you share them with the ones closest to you, whether you need support at the beginning of a new class you sign up for, or even finally learning how to ride a bike it’s always best if you have someone's love and support backing you up.
