Murray, NEB – The 22-23 cheer season ended in Feb with a state championship. With the season ending and the seniors leaving the team has some spots opening up.The candidates spent a week learning and practicing the tryout material. The official tryout took place on March 27.

The 23-24 cheer team consists of 15 cheerleaders. Returning cheerleaders and seniors consist of Dani A and Meghan G. Returning juniors consist of Kyler Z, Callie T, Elliot Z and Gabi T. This year there are many newcomers to the cheer team. Sophomore newcomers will be Layla B, Rachael U, Mercy W and Miley C. Freshman newcomers consist of Hadley G, Sophia T, Isabel B, Grace R and Rhiannon J.

Next year, senior Dani A says she is looking forward to the whole team growing together and the ability for them to all get better together. She is also excited to be able to teach the nine new cheerleaders new skills as one of the leaders on the cheer team.

Cheer Coach Summer Reike says, “We had an amazing group of candidates and we are so proud of everyone who attended tryouts. Here is to another great year!” We would like to say Congratulations to the 23-24 cheer team! We wish you the best of luck for your upcoming season.
