The Chicago Cubs have started this season off strong with a record 16 and 10 with a win percentage of .615 which puts them at first in the National League Central right now. The Cubs have the Pirates next week following the Phillies.

The Cubs are ranked number 1 in 3 of the 4 batting categories including runs, batting average, and on base percentage the whole team combined is ranked one in each one of those categories and are ranked second for slugging. The Chicago Cubs have started out strong but there are still over a hundred games left in the season. The Cubs have always been a first half of the season team you can just look at past years. For example in the 2023 season the Cubs started off 42-26 a pretty good record but in the second half of the season they almost doubled their losses with a record of 49-45. Another example of this is 2022 when they went 40-26 in the first half of the season and in the second half they went 43-38.

This year the cubs have made some changes that help with their strengths and weaknesses. For example this year the Cubs have one of the hardest schedules in the first half of the season and have shown great improvement. Another thing that will help them is that for the second half of the season they have one of the easiest schedules which should help their record and still have the hard games when they play better. The Cubs have already played the padres and the dodgers and have pulled off some wins which shows great promise because they are really good teams. Also the Cubs batting have been off the charts but their pitching is slowing their team down but the cubs have made some recent trades in hopes but the question is can the cubs go all the way or will their pitching keep them out of the running for the series for another year.
