On May 6, the Booster Club voted on new board members. Rhonda Hornberger was voted in as secretary and Valerie Meyer was voted in as the new president.
Over the last year, the Booster club has replaced three board members. Along with Hornberger and Meyer, Anthony Harlow recently took over as treasurer. The Booster Club has taken on tasks this year such as having a new video board installed in the high school gym, buying a new speaker for the cheer team, covering a significant cost for homecoming, paying to get football lines painted on the field, and covering half the cost for Hudl.
“I am grateful that the booster club helps pay for Hudl because it’s an excellent resource for watching game film, scouting other teams, and keeping track of our own team’s stats.” Lorelai F. shares.
The new video board that was installed in the gym will be used at sporting events, Veterans Day, pep rallies, and any other events that having a video board would be helpful for. It was a major project that took time and permits, but will benefit the entirety of the school for years to come.
“I’m glad there’s a new board in the gym because when people come to our school they can see that we’re serious about our athletics and care about the quality for the students,” Bailey W. says.
The Booster Club helps out immensely with the school, but replacing so many people comes with challenges of its own.
“Getting up to speed and understanding what’s normal for the Booster Club to pay for versus what isn’t [was a major challenge for taking over as treasurer],” Harlow states.
