Conestoga Track Team to Attend first meet of the Season
Murray, NEB.-The Conestoga High School Track’s first meet is this Friday! The very first meet of the year and quite a few people are preparing to compete at Doane. The students will be competing in: shot put, discus, long jump, triple jump, pole vault, high jump, 60M dash, 200M dash, 400M dash, 60M hurdles, 800M run, 1600M run, 3200M run, 3200M relay, and the 1600M relay.
Delaney Deterding, a sophomore discus thrower says “I think everyone that’s going, earned it. I’m kinda nervous about my event because it’s my first time doing it, and it’s my first year doing track. Everyone going worked super hard to achieve going to Doane.”
The coaches had to be selective about who could go, as there is a maximum of three people per team per event, except for the relays which have four people. The coaches picked students that excelled, and that they thought could do well. Conestoga has some great runners and excellent competitors.
Everyone, please join me in wishing them good luck, and have fun out there!
