Satanic Shoes Cause Anarchy Among Sneakerheads
Murray Neb.––Rapper and singer, Lil Nas X released a pair of Nike Air Max 97s, with many easter eggs regarding the devil. The shoe contains drops of real human blood, a pentagram, and bible verses glorifying the devil. This shoe retailed for, $1,018. 1018 refers to the bible passage, Luke 10:18 that reads “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven.”
A grand total of 666 pairs were released and instantly sold out in under a minute. Many people were agonized when this sneaker debuted on Palm Sunday.
Nike condemns any collaborations with this shoe and Lil Nas X. Nike stated, “We do not have a relationship with Little Nas X or MSCHF.” Nike filled a lawsuit regarding the situation. They stated the following regarding the lawsuit.“There is already evidence of significant confusion and dilution occurring in the marketplace, including calls to boycott Nike in response to the launch of MSCHF’s Satan shoes based on the mistaken belief that Nike has authorized or approved this product.”
