Conestoga Holds Annual Concert
Murray NEB- Conestoga held their annual winter concert on Jan 5, conducted by Cassandra Vallis, the music teacher here at Conestoga. All the groups worked diligently for weeks to be prepared for this concert. The original date set for this concert was cancelled due to snow.
The concert started with the guitarists playing songs such as “Little Old Saint Nick” and “Carol of the Bells.” After the guitars played and the choir sang, the bands went out and played their songs. The junior high band played “African Noel” and “North Pole Sleigh Ride,” and the high school band played the songs “A Christmas Tale,” “The Christmas Song” and “Jingle Bell Swing.” They were truly delightful to listen to.
In the weeks leading up to the concert, Vallis had the band, choir and guitar students go over their songs and practice them over and over again, until they were all satisfied with their progress. When it came time for them to perform in front of a live audience, they were ready. They all played their instruments and sang magnificently, and they were indeed satisfied with their progress and their performance. Conestoga could not be more proud of their musicians!
