Murray, NEB – As spring sports start to get heavy the Conestoga track team traveled to their first competition at Doane University, this is an indoor track meet. They do not have all the events, but they do have additional events to fit the 200 meter track. Many individuals, teams and groups found success. The Doane meet had 12 teams competing. Out of those 12 teams, Conestoga’s Girls finished the meet in second place, with a total of 66 points.

Some of the individuals that found success on the girls side include: Ayla G, Haven Z, Elizabeth H, Dani A and Tyanna J. Ayla scored 32 points on her own for the girls team. Ayla won both long jump and triple jump. She won the long jump with a jump of 15-11.25 and won the triple jump with a jump of 32-04.75. Ayla also placed third in the 60 meter dash, with a time of 8.51 and she placed third in the 200 meter dash finishing with a time of 28.77. Haven received fifth place in high jump, with a jump of 4-10.00 and finished the 200 meter dash in fourth place, running a 29.14. Elizabeth placed second in the pole vault, vaulting 8-00.00. Dani finished fourth in both the 1600 meter run and the 3200 meter run. She finished the 1600 with a 6:21.09 and the 3200 with a time of 13:17.51. Tyanna finished fourth in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:06.74.

The girls also found success in a few of their relays. The 4×400 team including Elliot Z, Jozlyn K, Haven and Tyanna J, placed fourth with a time of 4:39.13. The 4×800 team finished in fifth place with a time of 11:20.47.

The boys team also found success. Joe V finished the 800 meter run with a time of 2:21.47, securing himself a third place medal. Mickey T-H finished fifth in triple jump, with a jump of 38-09.25.The boys team also competed in relays and found successes. The 4×800 meter relay placed fifth, with a time of 9:52.86.
