The Conestoga wrestling team gets some last minute instructions from the coaching staff prior to taking the mat against Treynor. The Cougars dropped the dual 54-27 to the Cardinals.

TREYNOR, IA.–On Thursday, Jan. 7, the wrestling team traveled to Iowa to take on the Treynor Cardinals. This was the first of many tough duals for the wrestling team over the week. Treynor used great team depth to stop the Cougars in their tracks, winning the dual 54-27. Conestoga had three wrestlers win by pin. Keaghon Chini, Cameron Williams, and Brink Stawniak earned falls for the team. Carter Plowman also scored for the Cougars with a 14-8 decision. Carter Wessar had a win on the JV side with a pin.

DAVID CITY, NEB.–On Saturday, the Cougars traveled to Aquinas Catholic to compete in the Monarch-Scout Dual Tournament where they competed against four different opponents. The Cougars dropped duals to Blair (58-21), Aquinas Catholic (64-9) and Milford (67-6). The team’s lone victory on the day was a 42-39 win against North Bend Central.
