Conference Track
Murray, NEB. – The Conestoga Track team has been working hard all season to meet standards and reach personal records. The head coach is Chad Schmeckpepper along with the assistant coaches helping out including Trenton Clausen, Ryan Burns and Sarah Harvey. This track season has gone very well for all athletes, especially since competitions have been against Class B and sometimes Class A schools which provide the athletes with challenging competitors.
Coach Schmeckpepper was unable to attend this conference meet but still had his own opinions. “The athletes competed well in subpar conditions. The boys team left some points out there, but all in all it was a good effort by both of our teams.”
Athletes who placed in events were Evan S. who was the Conference champion in the pole vault, Keaghon C. who placed sixth in the 100 meter dash, Danie P. placed second in the 3200 meter, fourth in the 1600 meter, and sixth in the 800 meter run. Morgan M. finished second place in the pole vault. Elizabeth H. placed third in the pole vault. Haven Z. placed fourth in the high jump. The girls 4×100 relay team placed fifth (Piper I., Haven Z., Elizabeth H., Emory T.). Athletes who made it to state track are Danie P. and Evan S.
