Jesse Swantek is the dedicated teacher who manages and instructs all four high school art classes offered, as well as two required middle school classes within the Conestoga Jr/Sr. High School building. He stands out as a truly inspirational educator, consistently prioritizing student growth, creativity, and confidence over the pursuit of perfection.
His supportive and encouraging teaching style fosters a welcoming environment where students feel comfortable exploring their artistic abilities. Because of his influence, many Conestoga students have discovered a genuine passion for art, producing meaningful and impressive pieces that are proudly displayed in the high school hallways.Through his guidance, students not only develop technical skills but also gain a deeper appreciation for self expression and perseverance. His classroom has become a place where creativity thrives and where students feel valued and inspired every single day. Swantek has worked at Conestoga for the past ten years. When asked what inspired him to become a teacher he said “I was inspired by the idea of helping others using the artistic skills I have developed throughout his life.”
Earlier last month, he even took some of his top art students who submitted their work into a conference competition, giving them valuable real world experience. At an art conference the group of students that submitted their work traveled off campus to Yutan High school where they saw their artwork showcased and watched awards being presented. In addition to teaching, he has helped set up prom, further supporting the school community. His dedication continues to positively impact students, leaving a lasting impression on their education and lives.
