Mercy W. is a senior at Conestoga who is a big leader in many of the activities she is involved in. Whether Mercy is competing on the field or encouraging her teammates, she has become a familiar and respected face around the school.
Mercy is involved in many activities and sports such as cheer and soccer. As a dedicated athlete and student, she has been a key member of her team. “She’s the kind of person who pushes everyone to be better,” said teammate Lilly T. “Not just in the game, but as people too.”
Looking back as a freshman, she says it feels completely different than how her senior year is now. “I was very nervous and unsure of myself,” she said. “Now I feel more comfortable and confident to step up and help others, especially under classmen.”
As it is her senior year, Mercy expressed that she is going to miss the daily routine of high school. “Something I will miss the most about high school is the routine, being able to go to specific classes everyday, and having practices at the same time every weekend.”
Along with having practices, she stated that she wished she had tried to go out for volleyball. “I think if I would've started freshman year and practiced I would have been pretty good.“ But she is still satisfied with all that she accomplished in her high school years.
Mercy is a huge role model and is excited to see what the future holds for her. Yet she is nervous that she might fall behind in college and won’t be able to figure things out on her own.
“I am most excited to see where I will go after high school and being able to move on though,” expressed Mercy.
