People have to navigate the school differently because of construction. There is a lot of noise near Ms. Spangler’s classroom, and there is a door blocking the hallway that leads to Mr. Skiles old classroom. There is also another door by Ms. McHenry's classroom blocking another construction area. Students have to walk around the junior high hallway just to get to Ms. Iverson’s classroom. “Everything moves around, and you have to find it. I think it is a good idea that more students can come to the school, and more space, and I am very happy about the new renovation,” said Emma H.
New bookshelves arrived in the library, as part of the library renovations because more books are coming in and there is no room for new books. “[We are] Redesigning the library, and the old shelves are leaving the library, to make the library bigger, and more room for more books,” said Mrs. Morton. There is also no heat in parts of the school, because of the construction that is happening, which forced portable machines to be used.
Teachers have recently moved to the portables because of construction in their classrooms. Students have to walk outside to get to the teachers in their portable, and they have to get buzzed in at the front door to get to their next class, and they don’t want to be tardy. If students come out of the portables and have to wait to get into the building, they may be late to their classes, and teachers will have to excuse the students. ”I think that the changes to the school are going to be a good addition,” said Elizabeth A.
