Students from Conestoga Junior High were rewarded for good behavior all year with a field trip to Charles Schwab Field in Omaha on April 28, where they watched the Creighton Bluejays take on the North Dakota State Bison in an exciting college baseball matchup.
The trip gave students a chance to enjoy a live game atmosphere in Omaha, something many had never seen before. From the moment they entered the stadium, students were energized by the crowd, the music, and the action on the field. Teachers said the trip was meant to recognize positive behavior and encourage students to keep making good choices throughout their school experience.
Eighth grader, London R said the experience was something she won’t forget. “I had a really good time,” London R said. “It was fun being there with my friends, and it felt like a reward since school has been so tiring because summer is so soon.” She added that being in a big stadium made the game feel more intense compared to watching on TV at home.
Throughout the game, students cheered, laughed, and enjoyed classic ballpark snacks. Even those who weren’t big baseball fans found themselves getting into the spirit as the teams competed rooting for the team they were wanting to win.
By the end of the day, the trip was seen as a success by both students and staff. It not only rewarded good behavior but also created lasting memories outside the classroom, giving students a fun and meaningful break from their regular routine.
