KK J. placed first in her category at state FBLA on April 16-18. She was entered into both “Career Portfolio” and “Computer Game Simulation”. She placed first in “Career Portfolio”, and together with Jozlyn K., placed fourth in “Computer Game Simulation”.
Career Portfolio is an event where students create a resume to present their work based experiences and how it’s related to what they want to do for their future career. This portfolio is to showcase how students are working towards their goals for their careers.
“I feel proud that I got first because I was able to showcase my resume and plans for the future. It was cool to demonstrate how I’m already taking steps to work on my career goals as a pilot.” KK J. shares.
Jozlyn K. was entered in Computer Game and Simulation Programming with KK J. Computer Game and Simulation is where students code and create a game about a career of the students choice. Whenever you get a certain amount of stars in the game you win.
“It was really awesome getting to place and it was extra fun because I got the opportunity to learn new things while we created our project.”
The two girls worked hard on their project(s), taking time to dedicate themselves to their work and making their presentations the best they could possibly be.
“I had to submit a recording of the presentations a month in advance and then I had to actually present my career portfolio there. I prepared for the presentation for about a week and making the presentation took around 2 weeks.” KK J. states.
