Murray, NEB- Oct. 21, there was a JV Volleyball tournament held at Weeping Water against eight other schools: Weeping Water, Elmwood-Murdock, Lourdes CC, Louisville, Platteview, Palmyra, and DC West.

There were a total of 12 games, during pool play, then four additional tournament games to determine final placement.

“I think we played well considering things that happened earlier that week and the band being gone,” says volleyball player Layla B, “we only had nine players total. We still powered through regardless of how the set went. I’m excited to further progress my skills for the tournaments next year.”

For the reveal of what place the Conestoga team got and who their strongest competitor was, we asked JV setter Ella T.

“We got fourth place at the tournament. I think me and the whole team would agree that Platteview was the hardest team to play against, they also swept the two teams that played before that.”

With the end of the season here, we want to know how the girls think they ended with the tournament, and Lydia H gave her opinion.

“I think that considering we had less girls than normal, it was basically our reserve team. We all tried our best and still did pretty well. I was put into a position that I don’t usually play, and Layla was our libero. I didn’t love the position that I was playing, but without the other girls, I didn’t have a choice. I still tried my best, but overall I think we ended the season pretty well.”

“Come join the Conestoga Girls for the 2024 season next year,” encourages Varsity volleyball player Ayla G.
