The Conestoga Cougars hosted their annual Pink Out football game last Friday night, facing the tough Lincoln Lutheran Warriors. Despite strong effort and lots of Cougar spirit throughout the stands, Conestoga lost 11-35 in a hard matchup.
Friday was also senior night for the football players! Seniors, Ayden S, Cole M, Mason M, Dylan K, Jack H, Evan M, Grant T, and Sean L were honored. Sadly, Jack H got injured, dislocating his shoulder during the game, which made him unable to participate in the next game.
The Cougars’ highlight of the game came in the end of the third quarter, when quarterback Dylan K connected a 58 yard pass with Cole M for a touchdown. The crowd roared as Cole M fell in the endzone, showing the team’s determination to keep fighting until the end.
Even though the scoreboard didn’t go the Cougars’ way, the stands were full of pink spirits, as students, families, and fans showed their support for breast cancer awareness. The energy throughout the crowd never faded, and the players kept their heads high through every play.
The Cougars continue to show heart and teamwork as they move forward in their season, proud to represent Conestoga both on and off the field.
