As the season nears its end, the Conestoga volleyball team reflects on a year filled with growth, teamwork, and unforgettable moments. From hard fought wins to the bonds built off the court, the players agree. The season was about more than just the score.
The team’s success has been fueled by players like Kendall M., Emmalee G., and Cayleigh T., who each bring positivity, leadership, and energy to the court. Together they’ve helped shape a season defined by hard work, connection, and heart.
“I’m a middle, and I take on a big supporter and cheerleader role”, Kendall M said. “I make sure everyone’s having fun on the court and enjoying their year.”
Her favorite moment of the season came during a huge play at the net. “Getting a block, it was a kill block, that was definitely my highlight.”
For Kendall, staying positive and supporting her teammates on the court has been just as important as her performance on the court.
“When varsity won at conference, it was such an amazing moment,” Emmalee said. “It showed how far we’ve come.”
She focuses on consistent effort during practices and staying healthy to be ready for big games. “I make sure I eat healthy and get good rest,” she said. “Even when we lose, we keep cheering each other on.”
Like Kendall, Emmalee values the team’s uplifting spirit and determination to improve, win, or lose.
As an outside hitter, Cayleigh knows how important leadership is on the court. “I try to pick everyone else up when they’re down,” she said.
Her favorite memory this season was a thrilling five set win over Louisville in subdistricts. “It’s we, not me,” Cayleigh said. “That’s what keeps us strong.”
“Our team is a family,” Cayleigh said. “We have a very tight bond and love each other. Even though it’s hard knowing the seniors are leaving, we’ve built something that will last.
