On Friday, Sept. 19 the Conestoga football team lost the second home football game of the season against the Yutan. Yutan maintained the lead throughout the game, and Conestoga lost with a score of 54 to 6, thanks to a touchdown during the first half. Many members of the football team, especially the seniors, were unable to play, which had an impact on the team and the game. Despite everything, all the coaches were there to help them and coach as best as they could.
Many students from all grades and families from the school were at Cougar Stadium between 7 and 9 p.m. to encourage Conestoga. Yutan also had support from their families. A food drive was organized at the stadium entrance by both schools. There was also food for sale for the spectators, such as popcorn and pretzels.
The band was there to play the school song and perform a show at halftime. During halftime, the Cougarettes, the dance team, also performed a show in the middle of the field. The CHS cheer team was on the track to cheer throughout the entire game.
The Conestoga football team and the cheer team arrived at school 1 hour before the beginning of the game to warm up. The Yutan football team arrived at 6 p.m., along with their cheerleaders, to discover the stadium and practice before the game.
The weather was not very good, with a grey sky and a lot of clouds. There was also a light rain during the third quarter, which prevented the cheerleaders from performing stunts and other formations they had worked on for the rest of the game.
