The Wildcats take on Fort Calhoun this Thursday.
JV and Varsity will be playing at Fort Calhoun at 5 and 6 against the Pioneers. They have already played them on Saturday, Sept. 12 at Louisville. The game started in a tie then Fort Calhoun took the lead towards the last innings.
Junior Kyile G from Louisville High school to tell us how previous games went.“It went okay, we battled pretty hard until the last inning,” she stated. Sophomore Anslee P said, “Even though Fort Calhoun is a great team we still hung with them for most of their games, which is really impressive.” Anslee continued, “It’s always just that one inning where we kinda lose our confidence when they get a few runs, and that really tears the team apart and is when we start to make mistakes. But if we were to get rid of that inning then we would win those games.”
The Wildcats have played Fort Calhoun numerous times, sophomore Morgan Stone from Conestoga Jr Sr High school before the game shared her thoughts on what needs to happen differently from what they have done from the past. “What I plan to do differently in this game compared to other games is that i’m going to stay locked in all games, but still have fun at the same time. I will try to be the most positive on the field. I am also going to try and not let errors pile up on each other.”
The Wildcats have goals they would like to achieve for each game they play.‘The goal for the team for the Fort Calhoun game is to come out and do our best. Our number one goal for every game we play in is to get better throughout the game. To make small improvements that will help us in the rest of our season. “ said ReAnn Schreiner, head coach for Conestoga softball.
Good luck to the Wildcats at their game Thursday at Fort Calhoun.
