Cougars for Christ, or FCA, will be meeting on Oct. 3, in Rebecca Spangler’s room. They will be learning about 1 Peter.
The breakfast this week will be monkey bread and eggs, says Candace Kelley, she makes the breakfast. John Hazlip will be leading Cougars for Christ this Friday, he is the team leader at One Life Church.
You just grab breakfast and pick a seat, then you go through scripture and discuss it as you go. The lesson will end in prayer.
They will be learning about 1 Peter which is a letter he sent to Christians that were getting prosecuted for their faith and he is giving encouragement to them. Later on in the year they will be learning about 2 Peter.
You can join Cougars for Christ by just showing up on Friday and having a good time, “Show up at 7 a.m. on a Friday morning for Cougars For Christ,” said Kelley. You don’t need to bring anything just show up.
Later this year Cougars for Christ will go to the Weekend of Champions. The Weekend of Champions is a two day event where high school students come to worship and learn about God from across the state.
“Cougars for Christ is a way for kids to come together in a good way to learn about God,” said Kelley. It is a great opportunity to better understand God and get to know your classmates better.
Everyone is welcome at Cougars for Christ, I hope you take this opportunity to come to know God and know your classmates better.
