Prom season is officially here! It will be held on April 26 at the Conestoga High School Gym. Prom doesn’t just happen overnight it takes planning and preparing, whether it’s the decoration or food and drinks.

This years Prom planning group and helpers included Allison Dworak, Jesse Swantek, Layla B, Kk J, Jozlyn K, Lydia T-H, Rachael U, Ayla G, Dylan K, Jayden L, Mercy W, Jace T, and Isaac S. They all have put in so much time and hard work into making this night perfect!

“Advice I have for upcoming prom planning is definitely have a solid idea picked out with plenty of ideas for decorations, and get started on any arts and crafts stuff early,” said Layla B.

The planning group starts off with meetings around the November-December months, where they discuss the theme, food and drinks that will be needed, DJ information and where coronation and entrances will be located. However it really kicks off during the months of February through April where they really prepare by gathering the decor and food prep.

This year’s theme is Tangled. The prom planning group wanted a theme that everyone would enjoy and at first they were thinking of a fairytale theme which was perfect but they often found themselves mainly looking at decorations pertaining to the movie “Tangled.” They knew it was for the better because it made it easier to make specific plans according to one theme.

“I love helping set up prom because I love putting in effort into decorations artistically and I want to give the seniors a great prom to remember!” said Layla B.
