This week all Conestoga learning facilities will have early outs on Wednesday and Thursday due to the upcoming conferences that will be hosted at both Conestoga learning facilities. On both days conferences will be held from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Remember, students can do any possible retakes or assignments and submit them to be graded. Many students get reminders and recommendations from a few different teachers from different grade levels to help you raise your grades for any upcoming conferences, whether they be these conferences or the next.
Jacob Beverly, the English teacher for grades 8 and 9 recommends all students who need or want to retake any of the tests or quizzes to come to his classroom during Cougar Connections. If you are embarrassed that you need a retake, don’t worry about it. The class is filled with people taking retakes on a variety of different assignments.
Josh Schliefert, the teacher for both Algebra 2 and Trigonometry, says that students should stay consistent, check Powerschool, and remember to talk to their teachers if you need help better understanding a topic, otherwise you will remain in the struggle.
Amy McHenry, the teacher who teaches Creative Writing and English recommends that all students use the provided time in class, Cougar Connections, and CAT properly to finish assignments. She also said, “As soon as retakes pop up, take them. If you don’t by the time you get to them you will forget most if not all the information learned”
Following the recommended procedures for days you were absent, whether due to sports or personal reasons. And by collecting or asking about missing notes or assignments you weren’t there for would greatly help you stay on track of your grades.
