Quiz bowl is happening on Wednesdays at lunch every week. Anyone can join, you just have to walk into lunch with an open mind.

Quiz bowl is a great way to have fun with your classmates. If it is putting your heads together to find an answer or sometimes hearing a terrible answer that doesn’t make any sense. ”Quiz bowl broadens your horizons, and it tests what you know, challenges you and it is fun,” said Tracy Morton. Morton is the one who runs the Conestoga quiz bowl team.

“The hardest questions for Conestoga are the reading and language arts questions.” Morton went on to explain that it is because at school we don’t read many books. At school students mostly read short stories and many questions in quiz bowl are on specific books.

Morton feels quiz bowl is going to have a good year because there are many smart kids on the team this year and they know a broad range of subjects.

Quiz bowl will go to two competitions this year: the B103 radio and the fall conference. At a quiz bowl competition there are four people on a team with an alternate. There is one person in quiz bowl who reads off the questions when two teams try to buzz in and answer the question. If one team answers the question wrong then it goes to the other team.
