The current freshman class went on a trip to Peru State College on Oct. 30. Exploring the campus and experiencing what it would look like to live on a college campus, the students had lots of fun. Peru is a public university and is the cheapest college in Nebraska.
“The freshman got to see the different aspects of a college campus and learn about not only Peru State but other post secondary options as well,” recalled Laurel Krefels. Krefels was one of the teachers to take the students on the trip, along with Mark Skiles, Jeffrey Brokaw, and Emily Rohlff.
It was an all day field trip. “Our class/group got to see inside the women's dormitory, eat lunch with the other college students, and even went inside the library,” Safron G. expressed.
Peru State College is a “great experience for students if they have your major and you want to be involved in activities,” says Krefels, “It also is one of the most affordable options around, especially if you are looking for a community and somewhere you are not just a number,”
Some of those students might consider it as a good college option after that field trip, but at the end of the day they got to explore one option for their future.
