On Jan. 6 of 2026, there will be portable classrooms on the school’s front lawn parallel to the football field.
The portable classrooms will be there until the end of the school year. The school doesn’t have anywhere to put the teachers until their classrooms are finished over summer break other than the portables.
Conestoga is having portable classrooms, so the construction can be done by the start of the next school year. The classrooms are needed so construction can start on the kitchen which is being expanded to the surrounding classrooms to make it fit the staff and all of the supplies better. Also the construction will be going on at the school’s new front office to get finished on time. For this reason, teachers Brooke Iverson and Jacob Belvery both have to relocated.
The teachers that are moving into the portables are Mark Skiles, Steve Vecchio, Emily Carpenter, and Belvery. Iverson will be moving into Belvery’s room. All students will have a class inside a portable classroom other than the seventh graders, and the freshmen will have two and agriculture students will also have two.
The way that kids will go from classes outside in the portable classroom to other classrooms is just like how it is being done with the Cougar Den. Rob Geise stated that the portables are an inconvenience, but it will get the construction finished way sooner than without the portables. He also said without the portable classrooms the construction would take three to six months longer if the school wasn’t using the portable classrooms.
