Facing an increased need for help, Conesoga Elementary School’s library is searching for dedicated students to assist Michelle Zahn in the library.
Zahn, librarian at the elementary school, is seeking help. Volunteers would “reshelve returned books and display books so that students can find titles within their interest, — repair books to be available to students,” she lists. Due to the amount of books coming in and out of the library and her teaching duties, Zahn’s hands are full and she is in need of this help for the simple things.
Zahn is flexible with times and dates. “I usually go on Thursdays and Fridays from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.,” Bailey W. inputs.
Volunteering is an important role in shaping future successes, as it will open up doors for students. “Volunteering can help a person network and get recommendations for future opportunities,” continued Zahn.
If going to college, or even working, is something that interests you, volunteering can be a good idea. “Volunteering is something colleges look at. If you are involved in events or activities it can highly improve your application for jobs and colleges,” explained Bailey W., who volunteers at the library.
So will you be the next to volunteer? If so, email Zahn at [email protected].
