There’s been a lot of activity happening around Conestoga High School lately, and it’s all part of the exciting construction and renovation project that began earlier this school year. Students and staff have likely noticed the construction fences, equipment, and workers around the campus as progress continues on several major improvements.

The goal of this project is to make a bigger and better learning environment for the students. the plans include new and updated classrooms, expanded hallways, and better accessibility throughout the building. There will also be upgrades to athletic spaces and outdoor areas, giving students more opportunities to stay active and involved. It is also important to the school board we share with others the things that are happening in our school and keeping people informed.

“The goal of this project is to share with others the things that are happening in our school and keeping people informed,” Greg Page shared.

So far the construction workers are working hard to stay on schedule. Walls and roofs have gone up in several areas, new materials keep coming in and you can see a lot of progress each and every week. While some parts of the building are temporarily blocked off the staff and maintenance teams have done a great job keeping students safe and making sure learning and sports continue as usual.

Even though the noise and changes might be a little distracting at times, the results will definitely be worth it. When everything is finished Conestoga will have a more open, welcoming, and updated space for both current and future students to enjoy. “We are trying to keep the disruptions as minimal as possible, but some things have to be done to complete the project on time and not disrupt an additional school year. We hope everyone finds the end result worth their temporary disruption,“ Page stated.

The school administration encourages everyone to stay patient and positive during the process. The school will continue to share updates as the project moves forward so keep an eye out for what’s next as Conestoga continues to grow and improve!
