There have been 24 work based learning field trips this year and there are six field trips left this year .If you would like to go on one of these field trips, contact Jeff Brokaw.
Some of the field trips left this school year are: Medical Pathfinder trips, an Open Hangar Air Force event, and a few trades trips. There space is limited for each one of these trips, so make sure you contact Brokaw as soon as possible to get your name on the list. In order to attend any WBL field trips, you must be a high school student. If more students sign up than there is room for, priority goes to seniority. To go on these field trips you have to register with Brokaw and fill out some permission forms.
Work based learning field trips are very important for students to find out what they want to do in their future. Conestoga does work based learning field trips so students can get exposure to different careers and sometimes seeing or doing something with their hands can help them get some inspiration on what they want to do. Also, finding out what you do not like is equally important. Better to find out you hate seeing blood vs finding out three years into your undergrad explained Brokaw.
Brokaw stated that he finds these field trips through the community and connections around the school. Brokaw also gets emails on career fairs.
