There are two high school teachers leaving after this year Nick Hegge and Mark Skiles. Also Conestoga’s superintendent Mike Apple is leaving after this year.
The two teachers leaving are Hegge and Skiles. Hegge was a mock trial coach, former assistant boys basketball coach, and social studies teacher for six years at Conestoga. Skiles was head girls basketball coach and science teacher for five years at Conestoga. Apple has been superintendent of Conestoga Public Schools for 4 years. Apple and Skiles are both retiring, and Hegge is going to work remotely for the Constitution Center.
Their replacements are Karley Zoucha and Elli Marker. Marker will be the new science teacher, who is fresh out of college from UNL. Zoucha will be Conestoga’s new social studies teacher, Zoucha was a volleyball coach, softball coach, and a junior high basketball coach and taught English at her old school of Ord Jr/Sr High School.
Apple’s role of superintendent is being taken over by Conestoga's principal Rob Geise. Conestoga hired a new principal by the name of Ben Schekirke. Schekirke is the former principal and soccer coach of Alta-Aurelia High School.
