The Esports crew has gotten a lot bigger since last year. Last year the crew only had a grand total of 9 people throughout the entire school year, this year the crew has 12 people that have signed up. there is a chance more people may join throughout the year.

Some of the games that the Esports teams are competing in this first half of the year are Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Splatoon 3. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is a racing game that you can play as your favorite Mario characters. even some collabs made in this game, such as Link from the legend of Zelda, the villagers and Isabelle from Animal Crossing, and the inklings from Splatoon.

Former junior Mario Kart player, Hunter H shared his feelings on the Mario Kart season. “I think we’re going to do great this year, and I hope we can get past the playoffs in round 1.”

The newest game the Esports teams are competing in this year is Splatoon 3, Splatoon 3 is a third person shooter game that uses paint like ink; this is a 4 player game. This game has many weapons to choose from and there are multiple modes that are used. One of the modes is turf wars. Turf wars is a mode where you need to cover the stage with the most ink possible with a limited amount of time. Another game mode is Splat Zones. Splat Zones is a mode where you need to cover a specific area with a limited amount of time, you’re trying to keep the area under your control. Another mode is Tower Control. Tower control is a mode where you need to get a tower to a specific destination before the opposing team does. There are many other modes that are a bit complicated to know.

Here’s what the former junior Splatoon player, Christian J, says about his feelings about the Splatoon 3 season. “I feel confident about this season and our ability to play and teamwork,”.

The Esports team meets commonly every Tuesday for Splatoon 3, and Mario Kart on Thursday, the team either battles it out against a different team, or just play for fun.

The head coach, Jacob Belvery says, “I am looking forward to another great year of esports, this roster is looking very good so far,”
